RJ create present An Evening with BILLBOARD’S MAGAZINE Isabela Raygoza: Celebrating the Stories Behind Latin Music

On August 27, 2026, RJ Create welcomed Billboard music journalist Isabela Raygoza to our New York City offices for an evening dedicated to Latin music, storytelling and creative expression. Bringing together conversation, documentary film, live music and art, the event explored a career spent documenting the artists and cultural movements shaping Latin music today.
A Career at the Intersection of Music and Culture
As associate editor at Billboard Español , Raygoza brings a distinctive perspective to the industry. Raised in the San Diego–Tijuana borderlands and now based in New York City, she has spent more than 15 years chronicling Latin music across genres, communities and borders.
Our conversation looked back on that career and her experiences in music journalism. Her work includes major features and cover stories on Kali Uchis, Fuerza Regida, Becky G and Nicky Jam, as well as interviews with artists including Karol G, Romeo Santos, Juanes and J Balvin.
Beyond Billboard, her writing has appeared in publications such as Rolling Stone, VICE, MTV News and Dazed. In 2023, the Latin Alternative Music Conference, in partnership with Amazon Music, honored her as a Wonder Woman of Latin Music.
Exploring Música Mexicana on Screen
The evening also featured a screening of SCENES: Música Mexicana, a short documentary exploring the birth of the modern Mexican corridos movement. Produced and hosted by Raygoza for SoundCloud and sponsored by Toyota, the film brought another dimension of her storytelling to the event.
The screening led into a conversation about her professional journey and the experiences behind her work, offering a closer look at a career devoted to telling the stories of Latin music.
Live Music and Art
A live performance by our awesome assitant Dana Arocha and art by Director Mister Lynch rounded out the evening, bringing additional creative voices into the space alongside the screening and conversation.
